Mario has 25 years' experience as an Industrial Engineer and over 10 years as a Metallurgist.  His roles cover several positions as Quality Technician, Process Engineer, Quality Assurance & Control Manager, Process Consultant, Operations Manager and Operations Director in companies such as REFMEX, Hutchinson, Wyman Gordon, Linamar and Contour Hardening.

​Industrial Experience

These roles included several manufacturing and metallurgy processes in casting, polymers, ceramics, forgings, machining and heat treatment for automotive, end customer, energy and aerospace companies.

In addition, he has provided consultant and training services to universities, energy generation and recycling companies among others.

Materials

Low and medium carbon metals (automotive transmissions and engines);

Titanium alloys (Titanium (Ti 6 Al 4V and Ti 6Al 2Sn 4Zr 2Mo));

Nickel alloys (IN-708, IN-902 and Waspalloy) rotors discs and shafts for aircraft's turbines;

Nitrile, neoprene and latex for industrial, chemical and solvent handling; and

Refractories for blast, arc, cement and glass furnaces based on magnesite, carbon, spinel and silica.

​Process Routes

Wide range of heat treatment processes: induction, temper, carburizing, slow cool carburizing, nitriding and thermo-hydrogen processing (for Titanium 6Al 4V).

Machining operations: broaching, spindle and machining centres, honing, shot peen and shot blastand washing.

Forming operations: Press, die cutting, welding, water jet cut and EBF (Electron Beam Form).

Quality Control Tests: Hardness tests (HRA, HRC & microhardness), case depths, and Gleason M&M tests and programming (lead & involute), metallography, penetrating fluids, torsional, sediments, CMM checks and programming, viscosity, permeation, tensile strength, water treatment (inverse osmosis), grain size, density, cold and hot mode of rupture, resistance to compression, porosities and chemical analysis.

Manager and director to operators, quality technicians, quality engineers, metallurgy engineers, production managers, maintenance engineers, sales manager, laboratory technicians, human resources and administration.

​Currently working as Director of Operations for Contour Hardening in Mexico, and is proud to be part of M&C Educational and Training Services Ltd team, consultant to a Recycling company in Mexico and studying a Bachelor degree in Finance.
